Red rice has a long list of nutritional qualities to boast. It is high in fiber and antioxidants. It is also one of the few sources of Vitamin B6. It is also great for diabetics or heart patients as it has zero cholesterol and is lower in carbs than other types of rice. Hence, simply switching to red rice can help you maintain good health.

Are you looking for ways to include red rice in your meals? Here are 3 easy ways!

ADD IT AS A NUTRITIOUS SALAD ON THE SIDE

One of the easiest ways to include red rice in your meals is to include it as a salad. You can either consume a small portion on the side with your meals or eat a big portion as a meal itself. It is also very easy to make!

Ingredients:

Red rice

Onions

Tomatoes

Bell Peppers

Corn

Lemon

Kidney Beans

Olive Oil

Spices and seasonings of your choice

Process:

  • Boil your red rice in a pot of boiling water
  • Heat a pan and pour some olive oil into the pan
  • Roast the vegetables with a little bit of salt
  • Do not cook the vegetables just slightly roast them
  • Boil overnight soaked kidney beans in a pressure cooker
  • Mix the boiled red rice, kidney beans, and roasted vegetables in a bowl
  • For the dressing, mix a little bit of olive oil with lemon juice and seasoning of your choice
  •  Mix the dressing with your salad
  • Your salad is ready!

MAKE A RED RICE STUFFED PARANTHA

If you have leftover red rice, this is the perfect way to utilize them. Flavor your boiled red rice with seasoning or vegetables of your choice. Remember to not use vegetables like tomatoes as they have moisture and the paratha will not be able to hold its shape. Then, simply stuff the paranthas with the rice like any other stuffed paratha. Just like that, you can add more antioxidants, Vitamin B6, and other nutrients to your normal paratha.

SIMPLY REPLACE YOUR WHITE RICE WITH RED RICE

You can easily replace white rice with red rice in your everyday life. You can make Mexican rice, Thai rice, and even biryani with red rice. A lot of desserts like kheer can also be made using red rice. Hence, it is fairly easy to incorporate red rice into your everyday diet.
